    About Champoluc, Italy

    Champoluc is the largest resort in the Monterosa ski region. Monterosa is a huge ski area, comprised of 180 kilometers of trails and known as Italy’s “Three Valleys.” Surrounded by wooded terrain and based at one end of the Monterosa ski area with Gressoney in the central valley and Alagna on the far side, Champoluc boasts spectacular views of the region’s dramatic glaciers and peaks. It’s even possible to see the Matterhorn from Champoluc on a clear day.

    Skiing at Champoluc + Monterosa

    Ideal for intermediates and experts, Monterosa offers some of Europe’s best off-piste freeriding and heli-skiing opportunities. On piste, skiers and snowboarders can enjoy mostly red trails. Champoluc ski area is best suited to beginners and intermediates with easy-to-access beginner slopes at Antagnod. At Champoluc, there are also plenty of good mountain restaurants for lunch in the sunshine or a quick fuel stop. Ski.com recommends taking a break at the Ostafa restaurant to enjoy the gorgeous views and excellent on-piste cuisine and hot beverages.

    With more hotels than other resorts in the area, Champoluc is the largest base in the three valleys and offers plenty of off-mountain pursuits including ice skating, ice climbing, snowshoeing and classic Italian après-ski and dining, as well as souvenir and specialty goods shopping.
